Woburn, Mass. - Eastern Connection in Woburn, Mass. - the largest regional parcel carrier serving the East Coast - is celebrating its founding on Valentine’s Day 25 years ago with major new initiatives and a record 20% growth projected for this year.

"We are anticipating our best numbers ever as we mark our 25th anniversary," said Jim Berluti, President and CEO of Eastern Connection. He said that much of the company’s expected revenue growth is tied to its new Ground Delivery Service, which guarantees lower prices, later pickups, and earlier delivery (by 5 p.m. the next day), compared to two, three, and four-day deliveries by the national carriers.

Company revenue for 2008 is projected to be $42 million.

Eastern Connection is also making major investments in technology, including hand-held digital scanners and a new overhead parcel scanner system, which, according to Berluti, will put the company on par with, and in some cases superior to, the national giants.

In addition, Eastern Connection is renewing its longtime public service campaign for the American Heart Association by providing pro-bono deliveries and underwriting support during special February promotions.
